Perform CMS update

Important: During the update, the browser window must not be closed or reloaded.
  1. Log in to the backend

    Log in to the CMS backend with an administrator account.

  2. Create a backup

    Before performing the update, create a complete backup of the database and the CMS files. This allows the previous state to be restored in case of problems.

  3. Open the update area

    In the main menu, open the System > CMS Update section.

  4. Check available version

    Check the currently installed version and the new CMS version offered. Pay attention to any displayed notes and requirements.

  5. Start update

    Click Start update and confirm the security prompt. The CMS downloads the required files and then performs the update.

  6. Wait until the update is fully completed

    Wait until successful completion is displayed. Depending on the scope, the update may take several minutes.

  7. Check the result

    Afterwards, check in particular the following areas:

    • Homepage and important subpages
    • Navigation and forms
    • Images and downloads
    • Backend and installed modules
    • CMS version number in the update area
In case of an error: Do not start the update multiple times. Note the error message or take a screenshot and contact technical support.
